Body washes come in many varieties, and while I often find them to be pleasant, it’s uncommon for one to truly impress me. More frequently, I think, “This body wash is nice, but why is it priced so high?” This is often due to packaging costs, particularly when materials like glass are involved.

I’m certainly willing to invest in facial products, but I hesitate to spend too much on items that are quickly rinsed away. I’ve gradually accepted that some pricier shampoos yield better results on my difficult hair compared to budget-friendly options. However, when it comes to body washes, I remain unconvinced. Currently, my go-to option is priced at £3 — actually, it’s £2 at Boots as of this writing.

There is a notable aspect to mention: I generally prefer products without overwhelming fragrances. Dove’s offerings are well-known for their distinctive and quite strong scent. If heavy scents aren’t your thing, the Dove Advanced Care Nourishing Silk Body Wash may not be suitable for you. Yet, I’ve grown accustomed to its fragrance; to me, it embodies the essence of cleanliness. If you want to leave the shower smelling fresh, this product hits the mark, rather than opting for something musky or overly strong. That’s certainly my preference.

Despite the scent, this body wash is truly excellent. As I work to keep my skin hydrated as warmer weather approaches, this product has proven effective almost immediately. After using it, my skin feels noticeably better moisturized, smoother, and even a bit plumper. What more can you wish for in a body wash?

This formula includes microdroplets that adhere to the skin, ensuring they aren’t easily washed away. Instead, they are absorbed, providing long-lasting hydration for up to a full day.

I might sound a bit sarcastic, but I genuinely believe in the effectiveness of this product: once you use it, you’ll understand why. Your skin will feel luxuriously smooth and comfortably hydrated, akin to having applied a thick layer of lotion. Thankfully, you won’t have to follow up with additional moisturizing products, saving you time and effort. (If I needed to apply lotion, I’d likely choose Weleda Skin Food or something with shea butter.)
